Hyppocampus is a relational filesystem *really* relational: it aims to discard the traditional hierarchic filesystem with directories and paths, replacing with a relational structure where elements are sorted by their metadata.

Actually is implemented as shadow filesystem, operating between the user and the real filesystem install in the system, and using a RDBMS to store informations.

First of all, is well advised to check the section named "Related Pages" for general informations about the principles and the architecture of the system.
