TODO

The Lobotomy Project haven't a final goal, it's just a collector for ideas in some manner related each others. In this page you find some of the future plans for new components to enrich the whole environment or to experiment on a particular area: none of them have been really formalized or designed, so if somebody found here something interesting and want to be involved is appreciated ;-) .

Serine - It will be the networked implementation of the Hyppocampus filesystem: it have to include a sort of P2P protocol to share metadata for same files copied across the same net or the Internet, and permits to merge results for SQL queries executed on the whole area.

Talamus - The next generation input devices for your PC are your hands and your mounth: this components have to provide an interface between a cam, a mike and the system, so to permits usage of the machine with hands gestures and/or the voice. It wraps simple, atomical operations usually performed with the keyboard or the mouse with motion and sound patterns, and is the first step on the way for an omnipresent, domotic oriented scenario.

Stirnbein - Running on top of BrainTop, it have to be a simple application which extends the window manager possibilities and focalize the usage on a stylus-centric approach. It rappresents a shell which wraps the graphical environment and permits to perform on it advanced and pro-active drawing operations.

Cerebellum - It will be a daemon which register user's operations on the system and analyze them within a neural network, so to become a predictive tool which reproduce repetetive tasks and helps the user in daily work.

Staminal - More than an Hyppocampus module: it will translate and store all files into an universal format (probably something like XML) easily traslable when an application requires the data, discarding his original formattation.

Axon - A system daemon which solves relations between files and type formatting conversions to provide on-the-fly traslation of items to be opened with the preferred application.

Broc@ - A DICT server periodically updated and enriched with data parsed from online dictionaries; it would be used as reference while checking and correcting strings guessed by the handwrite recognization system.

There is also a list of minor tools which, due them approach and philosophy, can be related to the Lobotomy project but are not directly involved: them will be developed as standalone applications, and listed to the Goodies page when released:

Sinopia - A pad dedicated to the handwritten handling, with an infinite page sized on-demand and a completely pen-driven interface to browse stored pages.

DJV - A way to interface the RSS aggregator to the web browser, so to highlight marked and relevant news in function of contents of pages browsed by the user.

Of course, if you are a developer but want not to manage a whole component, you can also browse the todo trackers provided from the directly related projects pages:
